A summary of tips, rules, restrictions and fees for flying with your pet on Hawaiian Airlines : - Pets in cabin are only permitted on inter-island flights and flights leaving Hawaii - not allowed on flights arriving into Hawaii due to quarantine requirements. There are exceptions for service animals.
- For pets in cabin the carrier must fit under the seat and the pet must stay in the carrier at all times while on board.
- Ensure that you have a valid health certificate issued by a veterinarian.
- For pets in the cargo hold the maximum weight for pet and kennel is 70 lbs.
- For in cabin, or the cargo hold, it is advised to contact the airline as there are limits to the number of pets that can fly on a particular flight.
- Fee - For a pet traveling in the passenger cabin - free within Hawaii if instead of one piece of carry-on baggage. For travel that is not completely within the state of Hawaii the charge for in cabin pets is $175. For checked in pets (in the cargo hold) - within Hawaii is $60, and for travel that is not completely within the state of Hawaii is $225.
- If you are traveling on another airline, you are subject to their fees and your pet will need to be claimed and re-checked with the connecting airline.
